Both originally from Hertfordshire, the Decibel Duo began in September 2005. With their unique versatility, Ellie Lovegrove (trumpets) and Chris Eldred (piano) take pride in performing lively, varied programmes, with something to suit all tastes.

The Decibel Duo perform regularly in Hertfordshire and London; current venues include St James’ Church, Piccadilly, St Andrew’s Church, Holborn and St Pancras Church. Having recently given recitals for the Braughing Music Society, the Hoddesdon Music Club, and the Hertford Music Club, they were reviewed as having “technical prowess, producing lightness and softness of tone…brilliant…colourful”.

Ellie and Chris’ duo repertoire comprises music from
the Renaissance to the Baroque era, through to the twentieth century,
covering canonic material as well as incorporating more
obscure French, Danish and Japanese music. With Chris’ expertise lying in jazz, they
enjoy performing assorted Jazz Standards at the end of
